Allan Swartz graduated in 1983 from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Before his work as a curtainwall design expert witness, he has held design engineer positions with heavy construction companies, engineering design firms and a prefabricated stone clad curtainwall panel manufacturer. His wide range of business and design experience has given him unique insight into both the exterior curtainwall design engineering and manufacturing worlds.
Greg Kulpa graduated in 1983 from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering. He experience stems primarily from the light gage steel framing industry. Working for Inryco (at the time the world’s largest producer of light gage steel framing products) in the early 1980’s as a research and development engineer, brought his expertise to a structural engineering design firm in Costa Mesa, CA where he met Allan. Greg has written numerous light gage steel and curtainwall design software programs for both in house use and commercial availability.
Together they founded Swartz and Kulpa Engineering in 1988 which quickly grew into one of the countries leading exterior curtainwall design firms. Drawing on their experience, they developed countless innovative solutions, many of which have been patented. To date, Swartz and Kulpa inventions culminating in US Patents are:
